Object Recipes: Bold Kitchen

Title of object: Bold Kitchen series 

Designer of object: Stine Keinicke 

Reason for choice: ‘When I design, the first thing I consider is how your senses relate to the object; stimulation has to follow function. Bold Kitchen is a collection of plates and bowls, designed for food storage, preparation and serving. Very few products are flexible enough to transition from cooking, to dining, to storing food without friction. This collection embraces tactility, timeless design, and good ergonomics in the kitchen. The shape of the bold edge creates a tactile and comfortable grip, which perfectly fits the hand and makes it functional and enjoyable to use. The Bold Kitchen plates also function as lids for the bowls, which allows simple tableware to transform into food storage for the fridge. 

Material: The collection is made out of spun stainless steel, a material chosen for its strength and sterility, which is very well suited for the practical requirements of cooking. When using the collection, stainless steel wears very little and can therefore be used by many generations to come. The material also gives the pieces a tactile smooth touch and light reflective surface, which sits beautifully in a dining setting.

Recipe: Wild Garlic Pesto 

Ingredients:

  • 150g wild garlic leaves

  • Juice and zest of 1/2 of a lemon

  • 50g parmesan 

  • 60g toasted pine nuts

  • 2 tsp salt 

  • Pinch of black pepper 

  • 140ml rapeseed or olive oil 

Method:

  1. Blitz the wild garlic, lemon juice and zest, parmesan, pine nuts, salt and pepper in a food processor. 

  2. Add the oil and blitz again until smooth.

  3. Check the seasoning and enjoy!
